Well, they called my name about an hour ago
But, I wasn't there, I was a no-show
It was the man on t.v. talking so slow
I listened all night; was he talking to me?
And at least the fascination's there
When I climb up slow on that wooden chair
I cannot say what they want to hear
As I feel the face and poison leer
They take me and they fake me and they sell me down the sea
It's awkward and it's bumpy, but for things that fall on me
I'd have no time to build up strong
Now that bigger things sound false alarms
I keep long distance such hidden charms
And little things that bring big harm -to me
I end broken from the silence
And it's been quiet all this time
For it's so easy to be hateful
But much stronger to be kind
